Membership on The Dance Corner Elite Competition Team is by audition only. Current membership on a team does not guarantee membership on that team the following year. Auditions are typically held in the spring for the upcoming season. Dancers are required to audition for each team in which they are interested. Auditions are held as group auditions. Dancers will be asked to demonstrate skills and/or perform a short combination that they are taught during their audition session. Dancers may be asked to perform in small groups so teachers can better assess their technique and cohesion as part of a group. All ages will audition together, with the exception of the youngest dancers who are auditioning for Mini Team.
Dancers must be properly dressed for their auditions. They should come prepared to dance in a leotard/tights or appropriate dancewear (tank top, cami, dance pants/shorts). Dancers should bring shoes appropriate for all requested auditions. Hair should be pulled back off the face. Dancers are recommended to stretch and warm up prior to auditions.
Audition results will be posted after the final competition of the current season- typically 4-6 weeks after auditions. This allows the teachers and studio director time to continue to observe dancers in class, create team rosters, and develop the studio schedule for the upcoming year.
If you are unable to attend the scheduled audition date and would like to be considered, please contact Miss Amy. Arrangements may be able to be made for an individual audition. An additional audition date is typically scheduled for early fall for students who are new to the studio, missed spring auditions, or would like to be reconsidered for a team.
